SEO For Web 2.0 Sites
If you haven’t noticed
Internet marketing is dieing!
Well at least dieing in a
sense of doing business as usual.
Everyday I am bombarded with
emails from guru after guru pitching the latest must have
content tool or “Never Before Revealed Secret of Internet
Success” that any serious online marketer “Better” own or you
could be left in the dust.
Well until tomorrow anyway
when the next batch of “Limited Memberships or One Time Offers”
land in your inbox.
The real truth is even the big
guns of the IM world are feeling the growing pains that are
occurring on the Internet.
The SERPS are faster and
smarter, and you no longer can produce more garbage pages than
they can de-index.
The new “Black Hat” SEO
tactics will only produce for the very elite SEO’s, and the
rest of the IM want to be’s will be left spinning their wheels
putting their faith in some short lived piece of miracle
software.
Wow! Sounds pretty bleak, but
really for non SEO types this change is really a great
thing.
I have been preaching for some
time that the future of SEO is very simple.
Do unto the SERPS as you want
the SERPS to do unto you.
Think about it for a moment.
Google and friends are becoming better and better at detecting
sites that are what they consider spammy or at least lacking in
the searchers experience.
This is not just limited to
the “Organic” search results; Google has even brought their
discerning eyes into their Pay Per Click side of the
equation.
This is not some passing phase
or blip in the algorithm. The SERPS want quality, and if you
plan to profit from free traffic you need to realize that it is
their game, their ball, and their rules.
The good news is that it is
easy to get in the game. The quality and not the quantity of
the pages is where SEO is headed.
If you want to be rewarded with
good SE rankings first reward your visitors with useful quality
content that is directly related to the term that they are
searching with.
If you give great on target
information to your visitors the rankings will
follow!
